Habitat:

Fields, disturbed areas; native of Eurasia. The seeds of this species are the source of ‘canola’ oil, the name coined by marketers from ‘Canadian’ + ‘oil’+ ‘low’ + ‘acid’ to avoid the negative connotation of the ancient name ‘rape’.
